While Zimmerman denies bragging about the shooting, the Sentinel reports witnesses say he told Whitmer “I like your racist tattoos” and that he began talking about the Martin shooting “to brag”.
An unidentified man reportedly walked up to Zimmerman and said, “You’re bragging about that?” before telling him to get out of the restaurant, and punching him moments later.
George Zimmerman has been punched in the face by a man who accused him of “bragging” about killing Trayvon Martin. “You need to send like three or four cops”, he replied. Miranda would go on to be killed in a bar fight. He claimed the men shoved each other after Zimmerman said he didn’t like one of the man’s tattoos, and that was it.
Zimmerman: He recognized me.
The shocking incident quickly went viral, with many saying that Zimmerman should not have been bragging about the incident with Martin.
Zimmerman killed Martin in March 2012, when Martin reacted poorly to being followed in a neighborhood watch capacity.
– George Zimmerman claims he was punched by a man on Sunday at Gators Riverside Grille in Seminole County. Worrell didn’t describe any punch, according to the report, but said he knocked an object out of the hand of one of Zimmerman’s friends.
Witnesses at the Gators Riverside restaurant told a different story, however.
At this point, an angry patron, who was called “Eddie”, came up to the acquitted gunman and confronted Zimmerman.
In one altercation between the pair, Apperson allegedly said to Zimmerman: “You already know you’re wrong for killing that little black boy”.
Restaurant staff then deescalated the situation, the police report states.
After regaining his wits, Zimmerman jumped on the phone and called 911.
Zimmerman: No, his friends are trying to pull him away now. The first shared detail was that Zimmerman showed his driver’s license to prove who he was.
