Georges St-Pierre: I’m negotiating with UFC, began USADA testing
Conor McGregor won the featherweight title in December. Yes, if the numbers align and everything comes together we could potentially see one of the best fighters in MMA history return to the cage in the post-USADA era, former UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre. Hearing this, it didn’t take Woodley long to go on Twitter and respond to White’s claims. The UFC president told media the following.

In an interview with Jason Ellis on SiriusXM earlier today, Woodley stated that he had received a text message from GSP that read “I’m in on the fight”, to which he replied, “let’s do this”. “Funny how there is an official fight announced”, The Welterweight Champion Tweeted.
Woodley, who stole the belt from former welterweight champ, Robbie Lawler at UFC 201 in July, was quick to name his preferred challengers in his first title defense, immediately after his win.
“Dana White came out very often in public saying I’m this and that”, St-Pierre said.
“Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson is going to fight for the 170-pound title and then we’ll see what happens with Nick and Nate”. At UFC 202, McGregor will fight for the second time outside of the weight class that he holds the title.
Michael Bisping, Tyron Woodley, Chael Sonnen and a rematch with Nick Diaz are likely the frontrunners and, by the sounds of things, “Rush” would not be averse to facing Diaz again. While an opponent and contract have yet to materialize, St-Pierre’s move is the strongest indication of an imminent return.
St-Pierre was one of the more high-profile fighters to publicly speak out about the growing, out-of-control performance-enhancing drug epidemic in the sport of mixed-martial-arts, which many feel ultimately led to the UFC out-sourcing and implementing a brand new, zero-tolerance Anti-Doping Policy for all fighters on their active roster, including out-of-competition, random drug tests – anywhere, any place, anytime.

However, at this point it is unclear as to whether Woodley will sign up for the fight. Only time will tell if Woodley will take the same attitude with a fight against Wonderboy rather than GSP. He compared the hype to Mayweather and Pacquiao. He also states that fight didn’t live to its hype while UFC 196 did.
