Georgia to unveil new license plate that still features Rebel emblem

Except the Sons of Confederate Veterans’ logo happens to be a Confederate battle flag-which will be allowed to stay on the specially ordered plates.
The Department of Revenue and the Georgia chapter of the Sons of Confederate Veterans said this week they reached an agreement on the redesign and that it could be available as early as next week.
Although the latest draft of the redesign is not now available to the public, the AJC reports the large confederate flag watermark in the background of the former plate will be eliminated.
The South shall rise again – or at least its flag will.
More than 4,200 people signed a petition released by Better Georgia, a left-leaning advocacy group, calling for the state to stop selling the plates. “I would encourage members of the Sons of Confederate Veterans and all citizens of Georgia to ask for the newly designed Sons of Confederate Veterans specialty tag”.
Georgia’s new Sons of Confederate Veterans specialty license plate is expected to be available to paying customers in the next few weeks.
