Little did we know that Greyson Lambert would come down from Charlottesville late in the summer to command the vacant starting quarterback job with the Georgia Bulldogs. The 49-yarder gave him 12 straight games with at least 100 yards rushing. He opened Saturdaywith short gains to Reggie Davis and Terry Godwin – extending his record to 22 – before misfiring for Davis on third down to force a season-long, 47-yard Marshall Morgan field goal and a 3-0 lead.

Running back Nick Chubb was one of the Bulldogs who awoke from an early slumber, rushing for just 31 yards in the first half.
Lambert went 9 of 10 for 146 yards with two touchdowns, while Ramsey, who played most of the second half, completed 11 of 14 passes for 125 yards. Chubb then gained 35 yards on his first three second-half carries.
Lambert was 6-of-7 in the first half for 91 yards and the touchdown, while backup Brice Ramsey was 5-of-6 for 73 yards.

Georgia players swore to anyone who would listen that they wouldn’t overlook FCS foe Southern University to peek ahead to next Saturday’s ballyhooed SEC showdown against Alabama. Also of note, Richt collected his 140th career victory, which ties him for ninth all-time in the SEC with Georgia’s Wallace Butts.
Southern opted out of a 50-yard field goal try and completed a 4th-and-8 pass for 16 yards and a first down that kept the drive alive at the UGA 16.
When Greyson Lambert transferred from the University of Virginia after graduating to come play for the Georgia Bulldogs, many thought that he was just brought in to fill out a needed scholarship quarterback spot. “We came out with the mindset that we could play with them, but when we got to the game, we realized that, ‘OK, anything can go.’ The opportunity was there, so we had to seize our opportunity”.

Georgia led only 20-6 at halftime before scoring four third-quarter touchdowns.
That was eased a bit when Morgan booted a 25-yard field goal near the end of the half giving the Bulldogs a 20-6 lead in the locker room.
Richt had hoped to be well in command by halftime but that wasn’t the case.
On the next possession, the Dogs scored on three plays in barely over a minute, highlighted by Lambert’s 21-yard pass to Isaiah McKenzie and a 23-yard TD pass to Malcolm Mitchell.
Bulldogs’ Michel ran 58 yards for a TD. But for now, there’s nothing like being a Bulldog on Saturday in Athens after a win in Sanford Stadium. “I’m glad we got the game in position to do that”.
