Georgia wears down Kentucky defense
4 Consecutive Kentucky games have had more points scored against the Wildcats than the previous game.

Receiver and punt returner Reggie Davis may be able to play against Auburn after missing nearly all of the Kentucky game.
The scoring output against the Bulldogs was the lowest of the year and marked just the third time in three years the Wildcats managed less than 200 total yards of total offense in a single game. Kentucky’s special teams unit, which gave up a punt and a kickoff return for a touchdown in last week’s 52-21 loss to Tennessee, showed little sign of improvement against Georgia.
“They did a few good things in the first half and there’s a few things the players can build off and take into next week”, United Kingdom defensive coordinator D.J. Eliot said. “We made that change defensively and I think after one game, Coach Eliot liked it and hopefully it’ll work out and we’re going to do it again that way this week”.
This season, Davis has caught 12 passes for 187 yards. Redshirt freshman quarterback Drew Barker replaced Towles in the fourth quarter and went 1-for-2 with a five-yard pass.
Georgia athletic director Greg McGarity reportedly wanted to fire head coach Mark Richt after last season but was overruled by president Jere Morehead, according to Dan Wolken of USA Today Sports.
Kentucky’s only points came on a 32-yard field goal by Austin MacGinnis late in the first half. The downside is that he’s still out against the Bulldogs, leaving the rushing duties to Mikel Horton and Jojo Kemp. The Wildcats started 5-1 and seemed poised to end their three-year bowl drought before ending their season on a six-game losing streak and failing to earn a postseason berth.
BOOM-LESS BACKFIELD: The good news for the Wildcats is that leading rusher Boom Williams’ right elbow injury was upgraded from week to week to being evaluated on a daily basis. Mark Richt noticed and subsequently attempted to squash such conversation with this tweet.
Saturday’s game at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa carries national title implications for both teams with LSU (7-0) ranked No. 2 in the first College Football Playoff poll and Alabama (7-1) ranked No. 4.
If you wanna play big-boy football in the SEC, you have to make big-boy plays, and United Kingdom isn’t making enough of them. I imagine Mark is evaluating things, but this is not a good situation. Even the most successful coaches get exhausted of the grumbling from boosters who want to win everything all the time.
“It got me used to being back there in high school”, Godwin said.

Brice Ramsey played behind Lambert. Running back Sony Michel, who 165 rushing yards in the game, ended the drive with a 1-yard touchdown run. Fortunately, the Georgia Bulldogs played cohesively and delivered a complete beatdown of the Wildcats at home, using the Wildcat formation nonetheless.
