Georgia Wins Over Nicholls In Home Opener
Fourcade also rushed for 27 yards on four carries. The move comes after the freshman led Georgia to a comeback win over North Carolina in Week 1 with two 70-plus yard drives that led to scores.

Georgia got the first of two interceptions on the Colonels’ first drive when Chase Fourcade’s third down pass was intercepted by Juwan Briscoe at the Georgia 46.
Smart said the players need to do what they’re capable of doing on the field. An interception on what turned out to be Eason’s final drive led to a long return, though the Colonels managed just three points from the error. Only Herschel Walker (nine) has more 200-yard games in school history.
That throw from Lambert and other plays from Eason gives Smart some confidence in who he has as the signal caller of his offense no matter who lines up behind center.
“We have to take what we’ve got and we’ve got to get those guys better”, Smart said. The Colonels defense then forced a three-and-out and on the next drive, Georgia’s 52-yard yard field goal was wide. Junior OLB Lorenzo Carter scooped the fumble and returned it 24 yards for a touchdown.
The bulldogs fought from behind after trailing by as many as 10 points in the third.
Georgia relied on Chubb to run out the clock. “We’ve got two guys that can throw the ball effectively”.
“We can’t let rankings get to our head”. Georgia beat the Top 20 ranked Tarheels 33-24 at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta last week.
The Georgia Bulldogs look to build on their impressive comeback win over North Carolina.
“I was hollering. I was screaming so loud that the alarm system went off because Nick Chubb”, Smith said “He ran for over 200 yards and I was screaming so loud”.
Eason: Eason started the game and completed 11 of 20 passes for 204 yards and a touchdown. Not to mention Nick Chubb was held to just 80 yards on the day. He had three carries for three yards and caught two passes for five yards. Freshman Brian Herrien had 47 yards rushing.
Georgia outpaced Nicholls with a combined 373 yards of offense to the Colonels’ 236. They showed impressive push on their defensive front, hitting Chubb and McKenzie for losses. This was his second career start. He will be the first freshman to start a game for Georgia since Stafford started in the third game of 2006. The offensive line was sluggish and no one seemed to be treating the game like there was a chance they would lose.

Nicholls: The Colonels will play their home opener against Southland Conference rival Incarnate Word. They better. The Bulldogs will travel to Columbia, Mo., for their first SEC game against the Missouri Tigers next week.
