Georginio Wijnaldum: ‘I’ve joined Liverpool to win trophies’
Georginio brings some things into the squad – like Sadio [Mane], for example – that we didn’t have before.

Wijnaldum played 10 minutes for Rafa Benitez’s men last night against Doncaster Rovers after coming on as a late substitute but will now make his way to the north west.
The 49-year-old former Borussia Dortmund and Mainz 05 hailed Wijnaldum’s versatility, tactical intelligence, and experience.
He was signed by PSV Eindhoven in 2011 after making over a hundred appearances for Feyennoord, but it was apparent that they were never going to hold on to him for long given his natural ability.
However, Klopp also cautioned players that they are part of a team, and that no player was “more important” than anyone else.
“He is not only a good player, but also a player with the lungs of a horse”. He can play in five or six different positions.
“I used to watch him in Holland a lot when he was No. 10”. He never forgets direction. He struggled a little bit with that and actually standing up to the challenge and being the one who then went and took it on.
“I wasn’t surprised when it was like this when we met for the first time”, Klopp admitted.
“When I talked to him I could tell that he knows we have to work together to get this level out of him to all be successful for the team”.
“That’s what I want”.
“The deal still had to be agreed but we both knew we wanted to do this. But until something changes, we will continue training and work with him, and we will continue playing him in the games”. There’s no doubt. He’s 25 with a special story of life and a clear mind.
Christian Benteke’s Liverpool fairytale has more or less come to an end with West Ham United, Stoke City and a host of Bundesliga clubs interested in signing the big Belgian.
And he has tipped Klopp’s side for success – with Wijnaldum at the heart of it.

Wijnaldum told Liverpool’s official website: “I’m really excited because Liverpool is a big club with a great history and it’s always a dream to play for as big a club as Liverpool”.
