German driver Rosberg wins F1 Russian Grand prix in Sochi

Hamilton has taken a backseat to Nico Rosberg this season, watching his team-mate win the first four races after Sunday’s victory at the Russian Grand Prix.

Drivers are only allowed three reprimands during the season before receiving a 10-place grid penalty and Hamilton branded his latest rap “ridiculous” after the race in Sochi, where he finished second behind Nico Rosberg.

Lewis Hamilton has slammed “bloody ridiculous” stewards and declared he will have no problems in beating team-mate Nico Rosberg this season.

At one stage he was less than eight seconds shy of Rosberg, but was forced to cool his charge in an attempt to nurse his stricken Mercedes home.

“I don’t want to even ignore this bunch of lunatics who think that we would harm a driver who is our driver, who has been a double world champion for us”, the Austrian told reporters.

But don’t bet against it.

“That’s the thing, we win and we lose together”.

“There are things that I’ve tried to understand and I’ve asked to be informed of what’s going on in the process”, he said.

Rosberg said: “If you have a vehicle like this, you are really able to push to the limits”. “I think in the last moment I didn’t expect it (the Ferrari) to slow so much”. The sport is all about ups and downs, the down will come at some point, you just need to mentally prepare for that to come straight back up when it happens. It’s quite amusing. When I was karting, there was one steward, he was just there to make everyone’s weekend a bad weekend.

He has not won a race since he took his third title in Texas in October and has suffered mechanical problems in his last two races.

“But there are still 17 races to go, and still 17 races I can give him hell”. “It’s been an awesome weekend for me and the vehicle has been fantastic”, he said. “Without that, I wouldn’t have got to this point”.

And you know what’s better than winning – awkward exchanges with Russian President Vladimir Putin – as Rosberg wins the Grand Prix in Sochi. There is no reason that we can’t win, it’s just that we have these bugs coming along. The finish makes three points finishes in four races, with the American team again proving that the realities of a wholly new Formula 1 team don’t necessarily involve that team being a backmarker for its first few seasons.
