German woman, 91, charged in 260000 Auschwitz deaths
A 91-year-old woman who worked as a telegraph operator in Auschwitz has been accused of complicity in the murders of at least 260,000 Jews.

The unidentified woman, who authorities allege served as member of the Nazi SS is accused of serving as a radio controller for the camp commandant from Apr.to Jul. 1944, The Times of Israel reports. A 94-year-old former SS sergeant at Auschwitz was convicted on the same reasoning earlier this year.
Germany has previously only prosecuted Nazi war criminals if evidence shows they were personally involved in the crimes that were carried out.
April 16, 2015: Carnations are positioned on the barbed wire within the former Nazi death camp of Auschwitz.
However, court officials are not likely to decide whether to proceed with the case until next year.

Oskar Groening, known as “the bookkeeper of Auschwitz” who sorted money from prisoners, was convicted of 300,000 counts of accessory to murder in July and sentenced to four years in prison. According to the indictment, the records clearly states that “she was a helper in the systematic murder of the Jews transported there”, reports SportAct. If ever she is declared medically able, she would be tried at a court in Kiel.
