“We are proud and happy for Phil being named an All-America Scholar”, CU head coach Roy Edwards said. Matt Anderson and David Morgan were both tabbed for the award in 2003 and 2004, respectively.

This is the 10th time a Coastal golfer has earned GCAA All-America Scholar honors, joining Mathew “Gus” Pick (1988), Zack Byrd (2007 and 2009), Lindsay Renolds (2007 and 2008), Cameron Hooper (2009), Sebastian Soderberg (2012 and 2013) and Charlie Winegardner (2012). He fired a career-best six-under 65 in the first round of the Wolverine Invitational, the second-lowest tally in U-M history.

Park (5-9, 165, Sr., Kendal, England) also is on the Dean’s List with a 3.938 GPA, and earned his degree in journalism this past May.

He was one of 206 players in Division I to receive the honor, sponsored by Cleveland Golf and Srixon. His top performance of the year was a ninth place finish at the Patriot Intercollegiate where he shot just 1-over-par with an impressive 70-74-70-214.

As a senior, O’Toole led the Bearcats during the 2014-15 campaign with a 73.63 stroke average, recording eight top-30 finishes. All five Jacket starters in the NCAA Championship made the Atlantic Coast Conference All-Academic golf team in June, while Albertson was named ACC Scholar-Athlete of the Year in the sport. Scott Mendelsohn was the Rams’ first such honoree during the 1997-98 season, followed by Robby Stephenson in 2001 and Tommy Sharp in 2002.
