Germany global “dreams” of playing at Manchester United’s Old Trafford
Bastian Schweinsteiger of Germany is thrown in to the air by team mates after his last global match during the worldwide Friendly match between Germany and Finland at Borussia-Park on August 31, 2016 in Moenchengladbach, Germany.

“Basti”, who coach Joachim Low once referred to as the “brain of the German team” debuted in 2004 and was one of the stars of Germany’s 2014 World Cup triumph.
Schweinsteiger has made it clear that Manchester United will be his last club in Europe, and it seems the midfielder is ready to fight for his future at Old Trafford, despite the club wanting to offload him.
Schweinsteiger has already been axed from the first-team squad and Mourinho is even happy to promote youth team players rather than turn to the experienced German.
Jose Mourinho admits Manchester United’s preparation for the derby with Manchester City will be hampered by the global break.
He added: “I love standing on the pitch too much to focus on anything else – if I want to be a coach or something. But America is naturally an option”.
Regarding a move to the USA, he added: “The transfer window there is already closed”. “It has been an honour to play for you”.
“I am now 30 years old and goalkeepers usually can play longer”, he said.
“I think up to my suspension previous year, things were going well for me, then I had two unfortunate injuries”, remembered Schweinsteiger.
“Of course we will miss him”.
“In 120 worldwide matches I was allowed to play for my country and experience moments of incredible joy and success”. But I also know what I want.
And it was clearly hard to say goodbye at the end of an worldwide career stretching back to 2004.
“That’s how I’ll most likely use the Confed Cup”. I’m really happy and looking forward to tomorrow [Wednesday].
Despite his best hopes, the midfielder’s chances of returning to the United first-team are slim at best.
“I don’t know how many minutes I’ll play”. He has everything that I could wish for from a leading player.
