In addition to Lee who had a shot at forcing the playoff with a birdie on 18, Thailands Ariya Jutanugarn, the victor of the two previous stops on the LPGA schedule, also just needed birdie on 18 to force an extra hole.
Germany’s Caroline Masson, in her fourth season on the LPGA Tour, has won her first LPGA Tour title with a narrow win at the Manulife LPGA Classic in Hamilton, Ontario, in Canada.
Defending champion Suzann Pettersen (66) finished in a tie for third, two shots back, with top-ranked Lydia Ko (68) of New Zealand and second-ranked Jutanugarn (70). I doubled the first hole and from then on just kind of, well, Theres no pressure. “It was super-important to birdie the second hole and just get it going and see some putts go in”. I was thinking somebody was going to go really low.
Masson was on the practice putting green awaiting a potential playoff with South Korean Mi Hyang Lee who needed a 12-foot putt to make that happen before she could celebrate. I just really tried to have a good time with my caddy, Danny. “If I can try to help grow the game or inspire someone to pick up this game, this incredible game, it really makes me feel awesome”. “I obviously also know that a lot of things have to go right for that”.
Kim Hyo-joo, who started the final round in outright second, dropped back to equal eighth after her even-par 72. “My coach is here”, said Patcharajutar, who is using a local police officer as her caddie this week. We travel together, we are on the golf course and good times or bad times we have to get along.
“I want to play my golf”.
Canadians not making the weekend cut of one-under par were: Maddie Szeryk, at one-over par; Jennifer Ha, one-over par; Josée Doyon, two-over par; Jennifer Kirby four-over par; Lorie Kane, four-over par; Samantha Richdale, eight-over par; Nicole Vandermade, nine-over par; and Selina Costabile, 15-over-par. Brooke Henderson (71) of Smiths Falls, Ont., and Maude-Aimee Leblanc (69) of Sherbrooke, Que., were tied for 39th at 7-under 281 and Anne Catherine Tanguay (73) of Quebec City ended in a tie for 44th at 6-under 282.

“Definitely in my pro career, this is the most confident I’ve felt about my game and just how I’m looking at golf in general”.
