Bavaria’s premier Horst Seehofer, who has been among the fiercest critics of Chancellor Angela Merkel’s open door policy to refugees, on Saturday reiterated a call for reinforced controls at Europe’s external borders as well as at each European country’s national border.

The German leader issued a statement saying her thoughts were with the victims “of the apparent terrorist attack”.
With the French capital in shock, President Francois Hollande blamed the Islamic State group for killing at least 128 people in the city on Friday night in what could be further evidence of a shift in tactics by the Islamist terrorist group from the battlefields of Syria and Iraq to civilian targets in Europe. Merkel’s Interior Minister Thomas de Maiziere tied to tighten immigration controls without informing her while the country’s Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble said the influx of refugees was due to a “a careless skier”.
“The people in Paris are enduring a nightmare of violence, terror and fear”, Merkel said in Berlin.
For months now, Germany, led by Chancellor Angela Merkel, has been at the forefront of a generous approach to allow migrants and asylum seekers into the country.
In a speech in Berlin in July, Senator Cormann said: “I hope we will be able to advance an economic agenda which takes Australia’s contribution to our trade relationship beyond our current gold coin export successes”.
France calls EU security summit on Friday France called on Sunday for an emergency summit of European Union justice and internal affairs ministers to take place on November 20 aimed at speeding up and implementing security measures that are already under discussion.

While incoming Foreign Minister Witold Waszczykowski said Poland will meet a commitment by the Civic Platform to shelter 7,000 refugees, prime minister designate Beata Szydlo referred to the deal as “blackmail”. The smaller countries of Eastern Europe are being overwhelmed with newcomers that must be fed, clothed, and housed – even if many of them are moving on to northern European countries.
