“I sensed an over-confidence in Brendan’s team talks”.

Since leaving for Los Angeles, Gerrard has carved out more goalscoring opportunities (16) than any of his team-mates, and when combined with Liverpool’s recent poor form, maybe Rodgers shouldn’t have been so quick to let Mr. Liverpool leave for the USA.
‘I knew, deep down that him and his family wanted Barcelona rather than Arsenal.
According to the Mirror, Suarez was desperate to join Arsenal two years ago, but Liverpool refused to accept the bid, forcing Suarez to eventually stay at Anfield for one more season.
“When you lose someone like Luis Suarez it makes you an terrible lot weaker, so for me, I was prepared to do anything it took to try and make that not happen”, added the LA Galaxy midfielder.
Gerrard recalls texting Suarez to ask: “Luis, what’s going on here?”
Gerrard went on to pay a heartfelt tribute to Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho, who is not the most popular figure among Liverpool fans and yet he has a big admirer in their now departed skipper.
“But with my love for Liverpool, I’m not prepared to go to war and plus I was very happy and stable at the time“.
The interview starts with Gerrard discussing the infamous “slip” against Chelsea FC, which all but ended Liverpool FC’s chances of a first Premier League title in the 2013-14 campaign.
A move to Real Madrid would have been intriguing for Gerrard and the technical style of La Liga may have prolonged his influence at the very top level of the game.
“I’ve never been able to say this in public before but I was seriously concerned that we thought we could blow Chelsea away”, Gerrard wrote in his new autobiography My Story. Arena hopes Gerrard’s American adventure plays a pivotal role in his future success in soccer.

While some despise him, others admire him and one of those who fall into the latter group is Liverpool legend, Steven Gerrard.
