Coffee lovers in North Devon are being urged to raise a mug for Macmillan’s coffee morning on Friday, September 25.

This year Macmillan estimates that over 220,000 people across the United Kingdom will register to hold a coffee morning, with over 5 million cups of coffee and 12 million slices of cake due to be consumed. “I think it’s a mark of how much people love this event that every year it gets bigger and bigger”.

A local fundraising committee came up with the idea after it held a coffee morning and donated the proceeds to Macmillan. “We look forward to welcoming people through our doors on September 25 for what promises to be a fun-filled day”.

All guests attending will be able to indulge in the hotel’s famous coffees including its steaming lattes and homemade cakes, whilst raising funds for a extremely good cause. Two bespoke Coffee Morning badges designed by renowned British designer Sophie Conran, which also feature her own recipes, are also available from Cafés and Foodhalls for a suggested donation of £2.

Chloe Gallagher, Senior Partnership Manager at Macmillan Cancer Support, said: “Nothing compares to getting together with friends and family for a Coffee Morning”.

A city firm is to host a Macmillan coffee morning at a golf club – and all are invited.
