Get Your First Look At New ‘Overwatch’ Map Eichenwalde
Blizzard revealed a new map for Overwatch today during its Gamescom presentation in Cologne, Germany. However, this September, it will be receiving its very first new map with Eichenwalde. The site of one of the most well-known battles during the Omnic Crisis, the leader of the Crusaders, Balderich Von Alder made his last stand within these stone walls.

The map has one team escorting a battering ram to Eichenwalde Castle to reclaim the remains of Balderich, while the other must stop them. Outnumbered and outgunned, they were ultimately slain during the resulting combat. Blizzard’s fly-through video of the new map shows a handful of destroyed Bastion robots littered throughout the map. In addition to the support sniper Ana, players can also now enjoy the Summer Games update, which adds new customization items and a new, Rocket Ball-esque game mode for players to check out. If that weren’t enough, it even ties into the upcoming short “The Last Bastion” since it’s the place Bastion was found. Blizzard said that the middle section of the map is a also little different than previous maps, as it plays with height a lot more than usual.
