Get Your First Peek at the Power Rangers’ New, Updated Suits!
Indeed, just as the Rita reveal sent shockwaves to the fandom, this radically rebooted look at the new Rangers shows that the traditional textile Power Rangers getups have been replaced with what appears to be shiny illuminating exoskeletons. On Thursday morning, they got their first serious answer.

As if fungal flares or adult-onset acne weren’t enough for dermatologists to treat, the next iteration of Power Rangers heroes essentially grow protective suits out of their skin, Entertainment Weekly reported today (May 5).
Naturally, the internet isn’t too happy about this, and Complex has collected a bunch of tweets from disgruntled Power Rangers fans who don’t want to see their nostalgia weaponized into the next Transformers or Ninja Turtles-as if there was any chance of this turning out differently than those movies.
“It’s tricky finding a new language for a superhero costume”. Did the Power Rangers raid Iron Man’s closet. “You can’t win everyone over, but we are trying to appeal to a more mature audience and gain new fans”. The gang’s all here, from Billy the Blue Ranger to Becky G as Trini the Yellow Ranger.
Thus, the film’s teen/coming-of-age aspects are directly intertwined with the concept of this metamorphosis, which is directly linked to the “suits”. Dean Israelite, of Project Almanac vintage, is directing this one, from a screenplay by John Gatins, Buck Sharpless, Matt Sazama, Zack Stentz, Max Landis and Ashley Miller. It’s produced by series creator Haim Saban, Brian Casentini, Wyck Godfrey, and Marty Bowen.
The movie will be based on the popular Power Rangers franchise.

Earlier this year, Israelite commented on the diversity of the modern-day “Power Rangers” crew, stating that he wanted to maintain the diversity of the original TV series while avoiding race-driven color assignments. But on May 5, the team was finally shown in their updated costumes, in an exclusive preview from Entertainment Weekly.
