GfK Poll: Republicans not itching for a convention fight

Ivanka Trump and Eric Trump will not be able to vote for their father in New York’s Republican primary on April 19, it has emerged.

Colorado GOP leaders canceled the party’s presidential straw poll in August to avoid binding its delegates to a candidate who may not survive until the Republican National Convention in July.

Though right now it seems the race is down to two men, Donald Trump and Ted Cruz, but that may not be true in the long term.

“Do I know the 25, 30-year-old delegates?”

Melania Trump controls what her 10-year-old son can do on social media – but her husband, Donald, is another matter.

“If Donald Trump gets a majority and the majority of delegates vote for him and he doesn’t become the nominee, then I think that would be a huge deal and that would be wrong”, Rich Counts, one of Sen.

“I am pleased to bring Tim on board to organize what is a very important state”, Trump said in a statement released by his campaign. “Just because someone misses a deadline doesn’t mean you review the whole system”.

But the poll suggests both of the top GOP candidates would in fact be hard sells in a general election, with 63 percent of registered voters saying they would definitely not vote for Trump and 55 percent that they wouldn’t consider voting for Cruz.

“What I can share with you at this time is information has been referred to the Indiana State Police that alleges threatening emails have been sent to some Indiana delegates that will be participating in the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, OH”, said Capt. David Bursten, a state police spokesman.

Cruz’s comments came just a day after Trump repeatedly blasted Colorado‘s Republican leadership following Cruz’s sweep of the state’s delegates over the weekend.

Trump has been campaigning across his home state for the last several days, focusing on Upstate New York, and heads up Pennsylvania on Wednesday.

They knew an aggressive local organization identifying sympathetic activists would be critical to success in county assemblies and the state party convention.

Trump has complained bitterly that the Republican establishment is seeking to block him from the nomination and have agreed to back Cruz as a way to do so.

He’s received more votes, and has more pledged delegates, than any other candidate. Actually, of the three candidates, Trump’s support is the most firm at 84%, with 73% of Cruz support firm and only 64% for Kasich. To avoid splitting the vote, campaigns draft slates, which list names and numbers of people the campaign wants to attend the national convention.

Trump now leads the Republican field with 756 delegates – or 45 percent of all delegates awarded to date. “Because they saw how I was doing and they didn’t like it”.
