“Ghost in the Shell” teasers feature Scarlett Johansson as the Major
Next year, Ghost In The Shell heads to Hollywood for a live-action adaptation, which stars Scarlett Johansson as a cybernetic law-enforcer fighting hackers and futuristic criminals in the mid-21st century. Ghost in the Shell Movie – coming to theatres and IMAX March 31, 2017.

The images on show have an appropriately graphic quality, but then, the movie’s filmmakers have such a rich source of inspiration to draw from that we’d surprised if it didn’t.
Ghost in the Shell is one of the defining animes of the last two decades, mostly because it achieved a rare popularity in the west for its combination of action and pretty weird plotting. When it was first announced that Scarlett Johansson would be starring in the film, there was concern amongst fans that a white actor was taking the leading role in a story that is considered quintessentially Japanese. It’s based on the 1989-1990 Manga series by Masamune Shirow, which spawned a series of anime films beginning in 1995. Now, they must face a new enemy who will stop at nothing to sabotage Hanka Robotic’s Artificial Intelligence technology.
At her side, or against her, is a healthy cast that includes Juliette Binoche, Michael Pitt, Beat Takeshi Kitano, Pilou Asbæk, Kaori Momoi, Chin Han, Danusia Samal, Lasarus Ratuere, Yutaka Izumihara, and Tuwanda Manyimo.

Paramount and DreamWorks have released no less than five new teasers for the upcoming GHOST IN THE SHELL remake.
