Ghostbusters can’t be shown in China, probably because of the ghosts
Probably the other aspect I enjoyed the most in the reboot was the fact that it took a few jabs at the aforementioned haters. Would those fans actually put their prejudices aside and give it a fair shot? “She really really would complain about how heavy they were each day and when she gets mad, she gets amusing”. But one of the film’s saving graces comes from the chemistry that Wiig and McCarthy share. Thirty years after the beloved original franchise took the world by storm, director Paul Feig brings his fresh take to the supernatural comedy, joined by some of the funniest actors working today – Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones, and Chris Hemsworth. In her research as a professor of the paranormal, Abby is hoping to prove the existence of ghosts, with the help of weird but gifted engineer Holtzmann (Kate McKinnon). There were also plenty of jabs at the naysayers.

This is also a witty, occasionally hilarious and on the whole reasonably amusing film that utilises Paul Feig’s knack at scriptwriting and the talents of its exceptional cast very well. McKinnon would just have a look on her face that would crack everyone up.
The film follows the same basic premise as the original.
McCarthy: Paul (Feig, the director) likes to see how much of the insane stuff he pitches, I’ll say yes to, and sadly I always say, “Yeah”. There were great cameos by the entire cast of the former films.
Since the original 1984 “Ghostbusters” and the 1989 sequel starring Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Rick Moranis, Ernie Hudson and the late Harold Ramis, there have been many rumors surrounding a possible remake. Busting ghosts used to be a lot more fun.
It honestly felt that the entire theater was happy with it.
There are dozens of nods to the original films, from the obvious inclusions like the classic hearse (the team’s mode of transportation) to more subtle references sure to delight movie buffs. The film was met with a roaring applause at the end and theatergoers left with smiles on their faces.
The villain, one of the movie’s weak spots, is Rowan (Neil Casey), a lonely hotel janitor, bullied throughout his life and preparing to get his revenge by releasing a horde of ghosts upon New York City. Did I think some parts of Ghostbusters were cheesy? Yes.

The direction also misses the mark, and it is very obvious in scenes such as the dance sequence that could have been epic but was cut and stuck in the credits to keep audiences in their seats.
