“Ghostbusters” Cast Gets Serious at Premiere
The story’s the same general idea as the first one, but with different characters and specifics: Three misfit scientists (McCarthy, Wiig, McKinnon) join forces, somewhat accidentally, to form a ghosthunting business in NY.

All reboots are haunted by the specter of the movie that inspired them, but Sony’s new gender-swapped “Ghostbusters” – which substitutes comediennes Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones for the previously all-male paranormal exterminator squad – suffers from a disappointingly strong case of déjà vu.
The female casting for the reboot, among other things, has drawn some amount of controversy.
Paul Feig’s all-female Ghostbusters reboot, starring Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones and Kristen Wiig, was finally released in United Kingdom cinemas today (11 July) and to celebrate the comedy film making its way to the big screen, Sony promoted the movie in a big way.
“I was an enormous fan when “Ghostbusters” first came out”, he says.
Actually go SEE THE MOVIE before unleashing your hot take flamethrowers onto every stretch of the internet.
For more on the critical reaction to Ghostbusters, head to GameSpot sister site Metacritic.
“All men are portrayed as fools in the movie and in order to kill the final villain they have to shoot him in the crotch”. “People are going to love this movie so much that they’re going to demand more and more”. Whether she’s the focus of a scene or lurking at the edge of the frame, she is constantly stealing scenes from nearly everyone. And yeah, they all happen to be women.
Mostly, though, so far, the critics seem to like the new Ghostbusters, and those positive reviews could bank gold at the box office. It shouldn’t be novel, but it is. But first, the theatrical cut hits theaters on July 15th. But the fact is that an estrogen-infused makeover, particularly one with such a comedically gifted cast, was a promising idea. Be sure to check back next week, too, as we’ve got a spoiler-filled discussion with Feig himself on the way that asks a number of questions about the Ghostbusters multiverse and what the film’s post credits scene might mean for a sequel. But anyone who continues to stand against it on principle-‘My childhood has been defiled! “It’s not so much that the trailer was bad”. Director Paul Feig has combined the funniest actresses to play the roles, with the fighting elements from the original film. “For a summer comedy, there’s no nobler objective”. However, I’m still holding out hope that this movie will be the most surprising film of the summer. “At the end of the day, no amount of culturally enlightened intentions can rescue another undercooked studio product”.
There may be a lot to talk about on the “Ghostbusters” reboot, and it will always be compared with the original film. To many of us, it HAD to be good.

When McCarthy and Wiig close with the double-tag “Well, that ain’t terrible” and “No, that ain’t awful at all”, they may be having fun with the audience, but, ultimately, you are left with the impression that everyone here simply knew they had bitten off more than they could chew.
