Add in the film’s foreign take and Secret Lives has notched up nearly $254 million so far.
Paul Feig’s female-driven Ghostbusters reboot opened in theaters this past weekend, and even though it is still too early tell, its mixed results have left many to wonder whether or not it deserves a sequel.
Rookie canine officer Tyrus joined three-year veteran officer Titus for a swearing-in ceremony at the Perry County Law Enforcement Complex. Greenstein said Sony will submit the film for release ‘and we’ll see if we get accepted or not’.
Sony is preparing to call the Ghostbusters back for at least one more round of ghoul fighting following its $46 million U.S. box office opening.

In a summer of more disappointments than success at the movie box office, animation has been the one big bright spot at the turnstiles. Even if “Ghostbusters” can’t emulate those films, it should still benefit from a solid CinemaScore (B+) and a continued marketing spend from Sony, which has a lot riding on the film.
Ghostbusters is destined to become a fully revived film franchise, with sequels all but in the works. Its total gross stood at $445.5 million, beating out “Shrek 2’s” $441.2 million domestic haul.
Not doing so well from last week is Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, which landed just $7.5 million to bring its domestic up to $31 million.
Fox’s Ice Age: Collision Course topped the foreign box-office chart with $53 million from 51 markets, putting its worldwide total at $127 million ahead of its domestic launch on July 22.

Central Intelligence is still drawing crowds with an estimated $5.3 million; unfortunately, the critically praised The Infiltrator, starring Bryan Cranston, appears to have stalled out with a rough debut weekend, earning an estimated $5.3 million.
