Sony has not yet commented on the report so far, although Deadline has been told by an unnamed source familiar with the matter that Ghostbusters hasn’t yet been submitted to China Film Group, the state-owned organisation that runs the rule over movie imports.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sony Pictures are likely to have removed the word “ghost” from the movie’s Chinese title in order to avoid a potential censorship issue.

Euro also spoke with the executive producer Jessie Henderson, original and current producer Ivan Reitman, Ernie Hudson and Ray Parker Jr.as they were all equally excited to talk about the “Ghostbusters” then and now.

The first trailer was a real stinker, but film fans are much happier with The Ghostbusters global trailer.

And now, Paul Feig, the film’s director, seems to have confirmed not only Jillian’s sexuality, but why it wasn’t made clear on the big screen.

The decision to not show Ghostbusters to its audiences contradicts the country’s shift in film distribution, which has opened up in the last few years to allow for more science-fiction and fantasy based films. The reboot is being billed as “Super Power Dare Die Team”.

Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters reboot has been enjoying generally decent/good reviews (you can check out ours here), and looks set for a very respectable opening weekend at the USA box office – but THR is reporting on some news that might just put a dampener on the positivity parade.

The sequel, 1989’s Ghostbusters II, grossed just over US$200 million.
