Giant Pearl Worth $100M Kept Under Fisherman’s Bed 10 Years
Aileen Cynthia Amurao, a tourism officer at the province, discovered the gleaming pearl enshrined under the bed of his husband’s nephew for a decade.

Amurao also disclosed she was not aware of the discovery of the “fortune”, until she started searching the internet.
According to a report from Daily Mail, the unnamed man found a 34-kilogram pearl, which is said to be the biggest in the world.
The pearl is now on display in the city hall, and the fisherman will receive a reward from the local government.
She said that she, the fisherman and his family made a decision to hand the pearl over to the city’s mayor, who had it displayed in a glass case in Puerto Princesa’s city hall to attract tourists.
Amurao said the pearl will remain in the Philippines for the time being with the hope of bringing more tourists to the city. The still-to-be-authenticated find is said to be the largest in the world and would likely be valued in excess of US$100 million. A family member was fishing when he cast down his anchor and got stuck during a storm. His boat’s anchor caught on the giant clam and he had to swim down to dislodge it. The current world-record holder, a pearl weighing 24.7 kg (54 pounds), was found in Palawan’s waters in 2014.
World’s largest pearl that has been resting under a man’s bed who discovered it for over 10 years now has come into account in Philippines.
Finally, when he was moving, he gave it to his aunt, who just happens to be a tourism official in Puerto Princesa, reports the Guardian.
The Pearl of Allah, which was found by a local diver in 1939, weighs 6.4 kilograms (14.1 pounds), or less than one-fifth the weight of the fisherman’s find.
“He didn’t know how much it was worth and kept it tucked away at home as a simple good luck charm”.

The giant pearl is not the ideal spherical shape you might be picturing but instead a huge, misshapen blob, albeit one that’s valued at about a hundred million dollars.
