Gluten is the protein that naturally occurs in wheat, rye, barley, and crossbreeds of these grains. None of the chips were sold as individual bags and no other bagged chips are affected by this recall.

Giant says there haven’t been any reports of illness at this time. To see if the bag you have is included in the recall, check for code date January 02, 2016 through January 30, 2016, UPC No. 72600 00061, and Herr’s product code 122.

The recalled bags are a dark green metallic color with the Herr’s logo at the top of the package. The lot number is found at the upper right hand corner on the front of the package below the statement “Guaranteed Fresh Until”.

Those with gluten sensitivities, intolerance or celiac disease should not eat these potato chips and immediately return them to the retailer where they purchased them for a full refund. Herr Foods and other retailers are removing recalled product from the retailers’ shelves.
