Giants fail to warm up in 49-17 loss to Vikings

For the first time in almost a month, the Minnesota Vikings’ defense was at full strength. With one regular-season game to go – in Green Bay – they’re now tied with the Packers atop the NFC North. Sunday’s game will have major stakes as second-year quarterback Teddy Bridgewater and Minnesota’s purple haze of invisibility clash with the great Aaron Rodgers and green-and-gold royalty.

Trump on Clinton, Bush: ‘We view this as war’
Later in his speech, Trump remarked that “the last thing [Clinton] wants in her whole life” is to face him in a general election. Clinton’s public comments came as President Obama was in a re-election campaign making claims al-Qaida was “on the run”.

Brian Murphy of the Pioneer Press noted that play of veterans Kyle Rudolph, Brian Robison and Matt Kalil has helped the Vikings earn their first postseason berth since 2012.

Japan agrees to ‘comfort women’ talks: minister
In the face of criticism, President Park Geun Hye has launched an all-out campaign to win public support for the deal. China took a different tack, with state media slamming Japan’s long-awaited mea culpa as insincere and insufficient.

“I think that we’ve learned the kind of mentality that we have to have these last four weeks”, said Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer. If they lose they’re a wild card team and will hit the road at either Washington or Green Bay. “It’s tough to get anything started, we didn’t convert on third downs, we got into third and longs”.

Samoa was the first nation to see in 2016, with New Zealand the first nation with a sizeable population to celebrate the New Year. New York: Around 1 million people were expected to converge on New York City’s Times Square for the annual celebration.

Manning completed just 15 of 29 passes for 234 yards, with 1 touchdown, and 3 picks, one of which was returned by Vikings safety Harrison Smith for a score.

“I think the struggles were because I made some bad decisions and some bad throws”, Manning said. I keep talking to them about it: ‘This is the type of mentality that we have to have going forward.’ And really the Arizona game, I think we had the right mentality.

“We thought we were in a good position to take them down earlier in the season at our place”.

New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning (10) tries to get away from Minnesota Vikings defensive end Brian Robison (96) during the first half of an NFL football game Sunday, Dec. 27, 2015, in Minneapolis.

What Happened: The scoring started out slow here, with the only tally of the first quarter coming on a 32-yard field goal from Blair Walsh. With four minutes remaining in the second quarter, Manning overthrew Giants wide receiver Rueben Randle and was picked off by Smith, who sprinted down the left sideline untouched for a 35-yard score to put the Vikings up 16-3.

The Giants were embarrassed against the Vikings, and could never quite get over the hump in a division that was up for grabs.

If you want to criticize Tom Coughlin, GM Jerry Reese, or the numerous late game meltdowns for an underwhelming season, fine. They have made just one trip to the postseason in the past seven years, and although they won the Super Bowl that time, Coughlin’s teams have clearly underperformed in the other seasons.

First of all, the New York Giants aren’t going to “fire” Tom Coughlin. Since then, they have beaten the Chicago Bears 38-17 and the New York Giants 49-17.

NY will travel to Lambeau Field to take on the Packers, Minnesota to take on the Vikings, FirstEnergy Stadium to take on the Browns, Pittsburgh to take on the Steelers and either Seattle to take on the Seahawks or London to meet the Rams. NY scored just three points with the game competitive Sunday, adding its final 14 points in the second half with the game already well out of hand. The Giants lost SS Craig Dahl and RT Marshall Newhouse to concussions…. His status for Week 17 is uncertain. Eli Manning is thriving under offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo’s system, so McAdoo must be given another chance.

-WR Odell Beckham Jr. was suspended for Sunday’s game by the National Football League for his actions against the Carolina Panthers last week.
