Giants’ high-priced defense needs to slow down Saints’ Brees
The 37-year-old leads the league in passing and comes into the season with 10 consecutive years of passing for more than 4,000 yards, with no less than 4,870 in the last five, which includes three 5,000-yard campaigns.

One of the more entertaining games of the season previous year came in the form of the New York Giants traveling down south to take on the New Orleans Saints.
But this time, the Giants better have an answer.
Many NFL fans had very low expectations as to what to expect from the Giants running game this season as nothing has changed from past year in order to improve the run-game.
Could all of this happen again? And now New Orleans will have to contend not just with Beckham, but Victor Cruz and Sterling Shepard too. On the other hand, the Saints defense won’t be stopping anyone this season. With the additions of Olivier Vernon and Damon Harrison, along with the return of Jason Pierre-Paul, this task will be far easier than it was last season. “We have Eli Apple and DRC”. And promising rookie Darian Thompson will play safety, where the past-his-prime Brandon Meriweather was previous year.
Fans of the New Orleans Saints must look at the bright side. It also helped Brees post 423 yards – his sixth highest passing yards total as a Saint – and 4 touchdowns.
“Obviously, last season was frustrating because he dealt with the knee injury in training camp”. The Saints didn’t sack the quarterback and didn’t force a turnover.
He started just two games for the Saints, rushing for 112 yards on 36 carries while catching 34 passes for 239 yards and two touchdowns. So he still can light up a scoreboard. Now they want to get rid of it all together.
“And you know what, we’ve gotta get on to the next step with it”.
Defensive tackles Dan Williams and Justin Ellis played only 15 and 17 snaps, respectively, because the Saints don’t run much. Being relied upon to pick up third and short and even one or two fourth down conversions will be key to keeping the Saints defense off the field and having the opportunity to score enough points to keep this game close. “I still have a lot of football left in me”. “Them marching the ball downfield – I’d never come from a defense that had let a team march the ball downfield and just catch it all over the field on you like that”.
“I said, ‘Hey, you’ve got to own up to that, ‘” Del Rio said. “So I think Odell is right”.
The defensive line did a good job against the run and containing Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott, but the pass rush wasn’t much of a factor. “They have some good young talent”.
While on the subject of blitzing the quarterback, the defense will be required to get to the quarterback this week, or else there is no chance of keeping pace with Giants offense.

“It’s a first-class organization that gives the players everything they need to be successful, so I definitely don’t have any hard feelings”, Spiller told ESPN.
