A nice tribute to legendary baseball broadcaster Vin Scully is on tap for tonight.

With three exceptions (season opener at San Diego and two games at Anaheim), Scully has done only home games this season, but he will travel to San Francisco for the Dodgers’ final series of the regular season September 30-Oct. 2. That marked the largest regular-season crowd in the majors since August 30, 2012 – which was also at Dodger Stadium, and also a Scully bobblehead giveaway.
Transistor radios were common among fans attending a Dodgers game at the Coliseum, making Scully and partner Jerry Doggett the regular voices of the Dodgers. “I know that dramatically”.
Scully credits the birth of the transistor radio as “the greatest single break” of his career.
Whether it was Don Larsen’s ideal game for the New York Yankees in the 1956 World Series or Hank Aaron’s record-breaking 715th home run to surpass Babe Ruth in 1974, Scully’s evocative voice was there.
Nunez scored the Giants first run of the game when he hit a fly ball to deep left field with one out in the top of the fifth that upon first glance appeared to hit the top of the wall and bounce back into the field of play.
“As a little boy, my first reaction was, ‘Oh, the poor Giants.’ So that’s when I fell in love with baseball and became a true fan”.

“I don’t want people to think this is Vin’s last whatever”, he said. “I will concentrate on Denver as if they’re challenging the Dodgers for first place”. “And I don’t think I’m going to stress anything about me”.

The last time Moore faced the Dodgers, he came within one out of a no-hitter until Corey Seager singled in the ninth inning, on August 25.
