Giants tackle Will Beatty will not come off PUP list
The Giants placed Beatty on the physically unable to perform list at the start of camp after he tore his pectoral in offseason workouts and kept their projected starter at left tackle there when the calendar rolled into the regular season.

Beatty was able to practice in a few capacity for the past two weeks, but Coughlin never gave any indications that he was making much progress.
“He has an issue with a rotator cuff on the right side that’s going to require a few surgery, so he remains on PUP”, Coughlin said. “He’s had an issue with that for quite a while”. He subsequently underwent surgery.
NJ Advance Media’s Jordan Raanan reports the Giants are unlikely to activate LT Will Beatty (pec, PUP) before Thursday’s deadline.
Giants’ head coach Tom Coughlin was downright snippy on Monday when asked about Beatty, who suffered a torn pectoral muscle lifting weights during OTAs.
With Beatty sidelined, rookie Erick Flowers has started at left tackle and his performance there could have the Giants rethinking Beatty’s future, in light of the season-ending injuries. Thursday was the final day of a 21-day window in which the Giants could decide to keep him on PUP or add him to the active roster. On October 21, he began working in individual drills in practice. “So that’s why the decision”. “He was trying to see what he could do with it. He wore a strap and so on and so forth, but it just wasn’t enough”.

The Giants used their first round draft pick on offensive tackle Ereck Flowers who has filled in nicely on their offensive line.
