The collection will be inspired by Hadid’s “style, her sense, her social media presence as the top supermodel in the world today”, according to The Times. The model has not only been named the new global brand ambassador, but she’s also designing her very first capsule collection – and we couldn’t be more excited by the news!

“I have always looked up to his brand, campaigns and design style”, she continued. Since then, she’s appeared in fashion shows for some of the biggest designers in the world, including Diane von Furstenberg, Moschino, Versace, Balmain, Elie Saab, and Giambattista Valli.
Besides Hadid’s social reach (she’s amassed over 10 million Instagram followers) and perhaps the fact that she’s so highly sought-after by the fashion crowd these days, Hilfiger likes that Hadid is curvy (for a professional model), though how he worded his praise is a bit problematic. Aside from ensuring Hadid’s name will become even more household than it now is, the “ambassadorship” is no doubt a payday boon for her; normal campaigns can garner tens of thousands of dollars if not more for famous models, and loaning your name to a line likely multiplies that.
The collection, which will be available for fall/winter 2016, includes sportswear, footwear, a new fragrance and accessories – like watches and sunglasses. Hadid’s campaign will run alongside the brand’s seasonal advertising and dedicated men’s tailored and underwear campaign with brand ambassador Rafael Nadal.
