“As we move forward with the nomination process for Ms. Haspel, my fellow senators and I must have the complete picture of Ms. Haspel’s involvement in the program in order to fully and fairly review her record and qualifications”, Feinstein wrote.
Having overseen Central Intelligence Agency black-site torture camps in Thailand following the 9/11 attacks, Haspel has been widely derided since the announcement, but, apparently, a tweet from McCain got under Cheney’s skin.

We want to be clear, though. Majority supported the nomination of John Brennan as Obama’s CIA Director and he was up to his eyeballs in torture during the Bush administration just like Haspel was. Still, you can find her critics on both sides of the political aisle.
