Gionee has launched its mega battery smartphone, Marathon M5 in India. Priced at Rs 17,999, the phone will be exclusively available on Flipkart.

Back in June, the Chinese smartphone maker, announced Marathon M5 along with its latest flagship – Elife E8.
The Marathon M5 has a huge 6020 mAh battery that claims to offer 2 days of back up for heavy users and four days of back up on moderate usage. The smartphone comes with two 3010mAh batteries, taking the total to 6020mAh. It also features an extreme mode that can boost standby time at 5 percent battery life to 62 hours.
Gionee is always known for its Marathon series, i.e., Marathon M3 & Marathon M4. The device is fueled by MediaTek’s MT6735 64-bit quad-core processor running at 1.3GHz, and interesting enough, there’s a 6,020mAh battery on the inside. The device comes with 3 GB RAM and 32GB as its internal storage and can be expanded upto 128 GB using an external micro SD card.
The smartphone runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop-based Amigo 3.1 UI. It also supports IR blaster connectivity.
Gionee has started assembling smartphones at its Foxconn’s facility in Andhra Pradesh and is aiming to assemble around half-a-million phones from the facility by March next year.

Further Gionee Marathon M5 specs include a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and 1080p video capture, and a 5-megapixel front-facing snapper. The device measures 152x76x8.55mm and weighs 214 grams. So we took upon ourselves a mission to change that.
