The 14-year-old has been taken to south London police station where she remains in custody.
The internet is blowing up in outrage over this attack against an elderly woman.
Police said the victim, “who just wanted to get home”, was standing next to the pair when she was struck in the attack at around 3.20pm on 16 October.
As the elderly victim was leaving, one of the girls is clearly seen on the bus CCTV punching her in the face.
An argument then breaks out between the girls and the bus driver, resulting in a majority of the other passengers getting off.
London Ambulance Service was called to take the victim to St Helier hospital.
Officers from the Met’s Roads and Transport Policing Command arrested the teenager on suspicion of actual bodily harm.
The suspects are described as black girls, aged between 14 and 18 years old.
