Girl, 3, dies after being ejected in Philadelphia crash

Police said witnesses reported seeing a vehicle that may have been involved in a street race flee the scene at York Street immediately after the accident.

Investigators say the crash happened at about 7:15 p.m. Monday.

In a high-speed collision Monday night in the Kensington section of Philadelphia, a 3-year-old girl was thrown through the back passenger window when the auto she was riding in was hit by another vehicle going at high speeds on the city streets.

The child’s 64-year-old grandmother, a passenger in the auto, was listed in critical condition at Temple University Hospital, police said.

Philadelphia police are investigating a possible street race in Kensington after a three-year-old girl was fatally struck by a teen driver Monday night.

The girl was taken to a hospital, where she died less than an hour later.
