Nakasia James, 18, pleaded not guilty to murder on Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2016, in the stabbing death of her boyfriend, Dorian Powell, 21, of San Bernardino, Jan. 11, 2016, on Central Avenue.

Mr Powell, 21, from San Bernadino, was declared dead at the scene, according to ITV News.

During a preliminary investigation, screenshots surfaced of an apparent Facebook post from an account under the name Nakasia Macc James, which described a domestic fight with a drunk boyfriend she named as Dorian Powell. “Just goin tell ya nw be4 I get caught”, one of the posts stated.

The post said: “I gt the knife and and stabbed him ddnt think I would hurt him BT he died and I’m on the run”.

A police statement said that investigators acting on a tip found James hiding out in an apartment at North Hamilton Avenue in Hemet, shortly before 5 pm on Sunday.

“BT god knows I didn’t mean to stab him I was mad AF he socked me in my eyes and just picked sumthin up …”

She expressed regret and said she did not intend to do it, and everything happened in the spur of the moment, “Btsorryy lord hopefully u forgive me!”

“The Facebook postings are definitely a factor, but we have to be cognizant of the fact that anyone can post if they are on the account”, Lt. Richard Lawhead told Dateline last week.

Photos from the Facebook page were used on police wanted posters and social media posts.
