He further informed that both of them were rushed to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, where Meenakshi succumbed to her injuries. “We arrested the accused from the premises of a nearby school and recovered a knife from his possession”.

“The Chief Minister and his deputy Manish Sisodia had yesterday visited the girls residence where people told them that there is no police patrolling in the area and apparently some policemen were also involved”, he added. Her police grievance in 2013 had led to Prakash and his mom Shashi Bala being taken into preventive custody.

On Thursday, a 19-year-old girl was killed by two youths in Delhi’s Anand Parbat area by two youngsters.

Delhi Police Commissioner BS Bassi on Sunday said that he would ensure a fair and impartial investigation in the murder case of the girl in Anand Parbat region. It has also sought a report from Delhi Police within two days. The teenage girl was brutally stabbed to death for resisting molestation.

Earlier, slamming the Delhi police for the law and order situation, AAP leader Dilip Pandey said,”In the past few weeks, several incidents of crime against women have been reported”.

“The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) and Delhi Administration which includes police and Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, are busy fighting among themselves”.

Delhi’s special status as a partial state means that many of its key services – including the police force – are controlled by the national government.

Meanwhile, AAP leader and media adviser to Delhi Chief Minister Nagender Sharma further alleged, “BJP MPs are speaking like Delhi Police PROs. Seven Lok Sabha MPs and not one stepped out of their AC rooms”.
