Alexander Hamilton will stay the $10 bill, Lew said, after plenty of discussion from proponents of why the $20 bill is a better choice for the redesign. Lew first told America in June 2015 that he would feature a woman on a new version of the $10 bill alongside Hamilton.

Others said a woman shouldn’t have to share a bill – that she should have her own.
Last year, the Treasury announced plans for a woman to replace former Treasury Secretary Alexander Hamilton on the $10 bill, which was in line for an anti-counterfeiting makeover.
The new tens won’t be out until 2020, and there’s no date for the new twenty yet. Some point out that Jackson also opposed paper currency in favour of gold and silver.

Citing unnamed sources, CNN reported that the soonest the new $20 bill would be issued is 2030.
