Giroud Brace Sinks Denmark
Olivier Giroud scored two goals in the first six minutes as France stepped up their preparations for Euro 2016 with a win over Denmark in Copenhagen.

Denmark pulled a goal back in injury time through Erik Sviatchenko’s superb long-range strike but it was too little, too late.
Greece edged a seven-goal thriller against Hungary, while Albania won 3-0 on Armenia.
France do not need to worry about qualifying for next summer’s European Championships as the host nation of the tournament and are therefore able to use the global breaks to experiment with the squad.
Both sides made changes at the start of the second, as Kurt Zouma was introduced by France, while Denmark brought on Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
The lively Martial cut in from the right and played a clever disguised pass into the area for Giroud and the striker fired beyond Schmeichel, who let the ball squeeze under him.
It could have been worse for Denmark after half an hour when Raphael Varane headed Antoine Griezmann’s cross narrowly wide.
Denmark came close to reducing the deficit in the 28th minute but Steve Mandanda was on hand to keep out Christian Eriksen’s effort from distance.
It was comfortable in the end for France who now look ahead to back-to-back prestige friendlies against Germany and England next month which should provide a sterner test of their credentials.

Martial was the visitors’ most potent threat going forwards and went close twice in quick succession, first blazing just over in the 54th minute, before racing down the left and testing Schmeichel at the near post a few moments later. Giroud nearly completed his hat-trick in the second half but Schmeichel blocked the striker’s attempted chip with his chest.
