Giroud did ‘nothing’ to deserve red card – Wenger
Arsene Wenger has hinted that goalkeeper David Ospina will keep his Arsenal place for the remainder of the Champions League ties.

“He showed his detractors, those who doubted him, that he is a very good goalkeeper”. He showed what he’s about tonight.
Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina was in prime form as he made a number of world-class saves to keep his side in the mix.
PSG needed less than a minute to take the lead in France’s capital and it came through striker Cavani, who got in between the two Arsenal centre-backs to head a Serge Aurier cross into the bottom corner. “But if you can not play… you can not keep two world-class goalkeepers that don’t get games”.
“They know what the rules are for the season”. The 29-year-old still ended up receiving two yellow cards and being sent off for the second consecutive Champions League opening group game for Arsenal.
The subsequent red card proved to be Giroud’s second dismissal in the space of a year in the Champions League after he was also sent-off in the 2-1 defeat by Dinamo Zagreb last September, but the France global has pleaded his innocence and accused Verratti of play acting in an attempt to get Giroud sent-off. The incident did not appear serious and Marquinhos, who shoved the Arsenal striker, escaped without any sanction at all. “The player broke into the penalty area and, when you have chances, one day you might score, another day you might not”.
“Being on a yellow card, I didn’t want to make waves”, Giroud told reporters. “Giroud swears to me that he did nothing at all”, Wenger told BT Sport.
“I have total confidence in him”.
Alexis Sanchez’s 77th-minute goal canceled out the fastest goal Arsenal have ever conceded in Champions League and rescued a point for them against PSG, but it was an outlier of a positive moment on a bad day for the Gooners.
PSG coach Unai Emery added: “I am not happy with the result but I am happy with how we played”. We have experience in the Champions League and were resilient.
“When you start so badly against a team with such qualities, if you have no experience you can be caught out”.

“I know we have enough games to give them games”.
