The fight spilled out into the parking lot, where one man reportedly pulled a gun and shot another man in the leg. The group dispersed and the victim, who has since been identified as Rice, Jr., left the scene in a friend’s Porsche.
The report also says that Rice was seen on surveillance footage throwing a revolver into a stairwell. I ran the weapon and it is possibly stolen out of Chattanooga, Tennessee. Rice was booked on charges of reckless conduct and possession of marijuana, though an investigation into the altercation is ongoing.
The restaurant in question is owned by rapper T.I., although he was not mentioned in the police report. ID unit 7346 arrived on scene and took pictures on the scene, he took blood samples of the sidewalk, and took the shell case, and the revolver and they were placed in Police property as evidence. Former National Basketball Association player Glen Rice Jr. was involved in the brawl, and wound up injuring his leg after getting caught in the line of gunfire when the altercation in the parking lot escalated.
According to a report from the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Glen Rice Jr. was injured during a scary incident at an Atlanta nightclub Sunday. Rice was suspended three times before being dismissed from Georgia Tech’s basketball team following an incident involving driving under the influence and discharging a firearm while under the influence in which he was charged with permitting unlawful operation of a vehicle. Upon his arrest, police said they recovered a book bag reportedly belonging to Rice Jr. that contained 240 grams of marijuana and almost $6,000 in cash.
