Global iPhone shipments may fall short in 2016
Kuo says that this worst case scenario would mean that Apple would see an 18 percent reduction in shipment growth, with only 190 million units shipped for 2016 fiscal.

KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has forecasted that global iPhone shipments may be lower in 2016 than they were in 2014.
Kuo’s research note (via 9to5 Mac) adds that even in the best case scenario Tim Cook and company could ship only 205 million units of the iPhone, which is a decline of 11.6 percent year-over-year. Kuo suggests that Apple will be the only member of the top five smartphone manufacturers to record a year-on-year dip in sales in 2016.
Also, the iPhone 7 is rumored to have an all-glass design that’s quite akin to the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S.
Overall the reports would indicate that the iPhone SE has been something of a slow burner to begin with, leading everyone to think it was becoming a flop.
Following the release of the iPhone SE last month, reports are already coming in about the next major redesign of the Apple iPhone.
One of the major changes in Apple’s iPhone lineup in 2016 is that the bigger iPhone 7 Plus is expected to have a dual-camera lens, according to Kuo’s prediction back in January via AppleInsider.
As per a report in the Economic Times, Apple might soon bring the offline price of its iPhone at par with online price. He also expects a switch to AMOLED screens and the introduction of a new 5.8-inch screen model the next year.

Kuo has been regarded as one of the most reputable Apple analysts for years, so the latest report certainly holds weight amongst people that are invested in Apple. However, don’t be surprised if you see a successful iPhone this September; we all know too well how Apple plays with consumers’ emotions and Wall Street estimates, which it nearly always beats. With both the low- and high-end iPhones carrying the same casings and looking like previous models, it’s no surprise that the company, which never sold anything based on technology but on beauty instead, is struggling to keep the momentum going.
