GMA meteorologist Ginger Zee hurt ahead of ‘Dancing’ finale

ABC News confirmed that Ginger Zee has an injured in her pelvis and not yet sure if she can perform on “Dancing with the stars” Finale on Monday. But there was a “storm cloud” hanging over the ballroom as it wasn’t yet determined if Zee could compete due to a pelvis injury suffered last week. She’s been a favorite to win since the beginning, and I can’t wait to see how all that work paid off! Paige went “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” for her Freestyle performance getting three 10s from the judges. She also wouldn’t be the first dancer to be disqualified for an injury. The saucy dance starts with troupe members and everyone in black.

“The improvement from week three, when you did this dance, is unbelievable”, judge Len Goodman said. Bruno Tonioli and Carrie Ann Inaba thought Len was insane and each gave the routine a 10. Ginger got a flawless score of 30.

High Score: Paige VanZant & Mark Ballas did a Salsa for their redemption dance that earned scores of 10-9-10.

One dance would be hard enough with an injury, but the freestyle is the most demanding dance each season. Her and Val plan on performing. It was just an awkward movement.

Zee has been resting and working with the Dancing with the Stars physical therapist.

“It was like watching Ginger and Val’s greatest hits remastered and remixed in contemporary style”, Bruno Tonioli gushed. Zee was determined to take care of her injury with plenty of rest so she could perform for the May 23 show and based on her social media page, it appears she is ready to do just that. For their freestyle, Val wanted to focus on dancing and not bells, whistles, fireballs or flips. Their inspiration was Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers and classic moves from the past. “It gives you confidence…and without the ability to do that, it’s scary”, she said.

Nyle DiMarco’s Wild West Quickstep|Nyle and Peta get slightly out of sync.|Nyle DiMarco and his partner Peta Murgatroyd danced a Quickstep to Ray Chew’s cover of “S.O.B”. They want to erase that earlier negative feedback and end on something positive. The performance brought out strong emotions all around – and a ideal score for DiMarco. Bruno called the dance pitch ideal and Carrie Ann said she felt it was the best dance she’d seen in all 22 seasons.

The finalists will perform a third routine tomorrow – the 24-hour fusion challenge.

The stars each had to do a “redemption routine” — where they reprised a previous dance to show how much they’d improved.
