The union’s Labour Link Committee made the decision following discussions at regional and national level, and a consultation of members affiliated to the Labour Party.

On Monday, High Court judge Mr Justice Hickinbottom, sitting in London, allowed a legal challenge by five new members and declared that refusing them the right to vote would amount to a breach of contract.
He suggested a return to Labour’s old “electoral college”, which gave unions a third of the vote in leadership elections.

But it absolutely takes the political p*ss to expect Corbyn to use his own campaigning platform to air the views of his challenger.
Its evidence was that the SWP has “produced a series of materials for members to work alongside Labour Party members and supporters”.
“We need a Labour government once more”, said Mr Smith. Previous Labour leader Ed Milliband had replaced this with a “one member one vote” system to undermine union influence.
Mr Leir revealed he had campaigned for David Cameron in the 2010 election but had been won over by Mr Corbyn.
Hundreds of thousands of people have joined Labour to support Corbyn because they were looking for an alternative to the politics of austerity, racism and war.
The result will be announced at a Conference on September 23 in Liverpool.

Asked if he would rejoin the shadow cabinet, he replied: “Let’s see what happens”.
