He initially joined Arsenal as a 16-year-old in 2011, and has spent the summer playing for Germany at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

‘I had very good talks with the management and that has lead me here to Werder and the Bundesliga.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger was happy to let Gnabry move on after he struggled to make an impact at the Emirates Stadium, and despite interest from Bayern Munich, Werder won the race for his signature.
He made his first team debut in November 2012 but 2013-2014 was his breakout campaign, making nine appearances and scoring a goal before an injury halted his rise.
The fee is reported to be around £7 million, which includes add-ons, whilst he will sign a four-year deal with the Bundesliga club, which will also include a release clause.
“He (Gnabry) is a very young player, who showed at the Olympics what skills he has, how quick he is and how risky he is in front of goal”, said Bremen coach Viktor Skripnik.
Wenger is keen to keep hold of Gnabry but the player fancies the move and a fresh start.
“The Olympics were a personal highlight for me and I’d like to carry on my development here at Werder Bremen”.

According to Mirror Football reporter Alex Richards, Gnabry will be unveiled by his new club today after passing a medical. I allowed him to go to the Olympics to help Germany. “So I think he’s here now for a long time and it’s important that he stays with us”.
