Mark already identified Jesus as Son of God at the beginning of his gospel. I realized that Marc would never win this battle because he wouldn’t remove everything that fed his addiction.
Paul said of his fellow Jews, “For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge”.

Believers are not called to showcase the glories of this world. Is the denial of freedom of speech and religion to Christians a good work? Jesus brought joy to the world not by transforming it into a paradise, but by befriending the broken and broken-hearted. Here it is a synonym for Mark’s frequently used term “kingdom of God”. It is recognized as an archaic belief system, but it is one that lingers in one form or another today – such as the suggestion that our experience is tied to good or bad luck, or even that our health is fated to a season of sickness.
