`Godfather` actor Alex Rocc passes away at 79

According to a Facebook post by his daughter Jennifer, Rocco died on Saturday.

In “The Godfather“, he had the famous line, “Do you know who I am?”

He went onto appear on shows such as The Love Boat, Murder, She Wrote and The Facts of Life, in which he played Charlie Polniaczek.

Actor Alex Rocco has died at the age of 79.

On television, his voice was heard in The Simpsons as the “Itchy & Scratchy” studio owner Roger Meyers Jr, notes The Hollywood Reporter.

Rocco’s other noteworthy films included “The Friends of Eddie Coyle” (1973), with Robert Mitchum; “Freebie and the Bean” (1974), one of several projects he did with Alan Arkin; Tom Hanks’s “That Thing You Do!“. “Anyone who’s ever had him in their lives in any respect will know what I’m talking about.”‎.

He started his career in California in the 1960s and worked on honed his acting abilities under the tutelage of Star Trek star Leonard Nimoy, as E! reports.

Rocco played the love interest to Valerie Perrine in one of his final roles, 2014’s Silver Skies.

He appeared in over three dozen films, with the most prominent of these undeniably being The Godfather. He made his film debut in Russ Meyer’s Motorpsycho!

Rocco’s last role was as an old out of touch agent in the season 3 premiere of the IFC series Maron.

He is survived by his wife, actress Shannon Wilcox; daughters Jennifer and Kelli, sons Lucien and Sean; four grandchildren and a sister.
