Going Phab not so Fab for the iPhone 7 Plus

Contrary to the bravado Apple execs showed off on stage during the iPhone 7 launch, the phones new camera features – such as OIS on both models, an f/1.8 lens and RAW photo capture – are more about bringing the iPhone back up to par with rivals such as the Galaxy S7 and LG G5.

We really like how Apple presented the iPhone 7 but the tech giant misses out on one thing and that is size. They should, even more so as most of these phones are mighty expensive.

Some concerns were raised after it was revealed that, while the new handsets promise IP67 dust- and water-resistance, Apple’s warranty does not cover them for “liquid damage”. At times, it can feel awkward handling the big device, and the unaltered design of the iPhone 7 Plus is also a part-contributor for this. But confining the feature to the bigger device is what raises the eyebrows, and neither does the upgrade please the entire community who are looking forward for a 5.5-inch sized “smartphone” from an Apple. The standard price iPhone 7 starts at £599, rising to £699 for the 128GB model and £799 for the 256GB model. At 6.23×3.07×0.29, the iPhone 7 Plus hasn’t got any slim compared to the iPhone 6S Plus.

Consequently, while you have nothing to worry about if the iPhone 7 takes a little splash or gets caught out in the rain, you might want to hold off taking it for a swim.

To sum it all up, the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus do not have that much of a difference. All these three phones are IP68 certified, which is a step up from what Apple offers in its iPhone 7.

“While an attractive addition for avid picture takers and professional photographers”, states Kuo, “the iPhone 7 Plus dual-camera is not a mass-market killer application yet”. There is another 12-megapixel rear camera, which is a 56mm telephoto lens with a f/2.8 aperture. The 7 Plus offers up to 2X optical zoom. So does that mean that eventually the dual camera setup will be available on both iPhones? A cheaper, mid-range phone, it sells better than expected in places such as Latin America, but isn’t enough to reverse a revenue decline. Apple claims the new displays are 25 percent brighter and offer a wider color gamut.

Apple introduced its first dual-camera iPhone solution at a special event on Wednesday.
