Gold Star Muslim father Khan deleted law firm website after criticizing Trump

Khan and his wife Ghazala have become something of a flash point in the presidential race after speaking out against Trump last week at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia.

Khizr and Ghazala Khan, the bereaved parents of Capt. Humayun Khan, a Muslim who was awarded a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart after he was killed in 2004, have refused to back down from their criticism of Trump, even as he has complained of being “viciously attacked.”. In it, Khan offered tough pushback to Trump’s proposed temporary ban on Muslim immigration and an emotional story about his son who died fighting in the Iraq War.

Trump stoked further outrage by implying Ghazala Khan didn’t speak while standing alongside her husband at the convention because she’s a Muslim woman.

Trump’s comments are just the latest example of how he speaks in “vague generalities and double downs any time he’s criticized”, said Mike Wagner, UW-Madison professor of journalism and mass communication.

Sen. John McCain, R-Arizona, the 2008 GOP presidential nominee, rebuked Trump for his remarks. “We. demand you apologize to the Khans, to all Gold Star families, and to all Americans for your offensive, and frankly anti-American comments”.

Democratic President Barack Obama also came out in support of the family and said of those who have lost family members in the military service: “No one has given more to our freedom and our security than our Gold Star families…. They’re here in our country, and who’s next?”

When I asked Sebastian for comment on Trump’s comments attacking the Khans, he said: “Senator Ward would disagree with that”.

Ghazala answered Trump’s criticism with a moving essay posted by the Washington Post on July 31, in which she said, “I can not walk into a room with pictures of Humayun …”

Khizr Khan, who was born in Pakistan, told BBC News that Trump can not expect to insult women, judges, and members of his own party, and not face criticism.

As the crowd jeered the woman, Pence tried to quiet them down. “And his disrespect for Mr. Khan …”

Pence said he understands and appreciates the attention given to Kahn’s family. Trump has since focused on immigrants from specific countries at risk for terrorism. Here is my answer to Donald Trump: Because without saying a thing, all the world, all America, felt my pain. “I’ve created thousands and thousands of jobs”, Trump said. The celebrity billionaire also declared that Khan had no right to challenge Trump.
