Golden record ends as Warriors `run out of gas’ against Bucks

The Golden State Warriors NBA-record start ended after 24 straight wins, falling to the Milwaukee Bucks 108-95 at the BMO Harris Bradley Center on Saturday night.

Which was surprising, because it wasn’t like he was toting an historic winning streak back to the Bay Area in there.

Golden States’ win streak stands as the second longest in league history, and the longest to start a season.

The improved defensive play coincided with Kidd’s decision to swap Mayo into the starting lineup at point guard for Michael Carter-Williams.

Golden State, which averages 13 3-pointers a night, was just 6 of 26 from behind the arc.

What did the Warriors do wrong?

“A night after scraping past Boston in double overtime, the tired defending champions fell on the final stop of a seven- game road trip”. For example, the * a href=”http://stats.nba.com/league/lineups/?ls=iref:nba:gnav#!/?Season=2015-16&SeasonType=Regular%20Season&GroupQuantity=2&TeamID=1610612744&CF=GROUP_NAME*E*ezeli|GROUP_NAME*E*speights&DateFrom=12%2F12%2F2015&DateTo=12%2F13%2F2015″ target=”_blank” *combination of Festus Ezeli and Marreese Speights at the big positions had only appeared together in seven previous games this season. They didn’t seem to be too carried away with whatever the streak was. The Bucks are 2-10 on the road this season after dropping nine straight on opposing teams’ home courts. The Pacers were thought to be a fair bet to be the ones who finally knocked the Dubs from their undefeated perch, but the visitors quickly showed us all the folly in such thinking. On Saturday night, however, we saw the old Bucks defense come back to help hurt the Warriors.

Green even made sure of that, speaking up immediately afterward to the crew that had accomplished so much.

“We didn’t have it tonight”, interim coach Luke Walton said. The defeat offers the Warriors a chance to regroup and refocus their attentions on the bigger picture. They have room to breathe and experiment, to treat the regular season for the laboratory and glorified scrimmage ground that it is. “I bet there will be a little relief mentally going forward from this point”. It was a lot of fun. So every Monday, we recap what happened in the world of Wisconsin sports while you were out doing all those other awesome weekend things.

Draymond Green had 24 points and 11 rebounds for the Warriors.

The Bucks, meanwhile, would be happy just to catch up to their own.

The Milwaukee Bucks did the entire league favor.

The Golden State Warriors, who are 23-0 as I type this, have painted themselves into the same corner that all historically great teams-and those with historically great aspirations-inevitably find themselves in. Lacy, a week after being disciplined for breaking curfew, rushed for 124 yards and a touchdown, Rodgers threw for 218 yards and two scores and Clay Matthews got his first sack in two months for the first-place Packers.

“We never wavered”, Monroe said. “But for 48 minutes, I don’t think anybody can say we played as hard as they did”.

“I’m not happy it is over because at the end of the day what we did was pretty cool”.

Milwaukee (10-15) begins a four-game West Coast trip Tuesday against the Los Angeles Lakers. So long, streak. It was nice while it lasted.

“Nobody wanted to see it come to an end”, Golden State guard Stephen Curry said.
