Golden State Warriors, A Superstar Team Without Ego

Like everyone before them in the last 27 games, they failed, as the Warriors zoom in on the Lakers 33-consecutive win streak record.

Not surprisingly, it’s also led to plenty of Internet outrage, as people don’t see the value in counting wins from last season after the Warriors lost three games during the playoffs. Golden State not only evaluates players based on injuries, but uses biometric data to evaluate when players need rest.

The Golden State Warriors seem to want to go the distance this year. Following their game Tuesday night against the Indiana Pacers Thompson repeatedly stated that he would be fine to play Friday night. Losing Barnes was huge, but the Warriors managed to hang on without him.

While on this winning streak, the Warriors are showing every aspect of their team. In Golden State’s past 11 games, Thompson is averaging 20.8 points and shooting 50% on threes. On top of these two guys sidelined, Leandro Barbosa is also a game time decision who’s battling an illness. Stephen Curry is averaging 32.2 points and six assists while Draymond Green is averaging 13 points and seven assists.

Thompson, who rolled an ankle late in the game, scored 29 of his season-high 39 points during a 79-point first half, and Golden State improved to 23-0 with a 131-123 victory against Indiana.

“We play an up-tempo style, which means games can get into the 100s on each side, but we still have to involve our defensive principles”, Pacers coach Frank Vogel said. As skilled as they are, that’s how much fun they have, and how connected they are a team.

Curry had fans literally screaming his name and begging for an acknowledgement as he went through his pregame routine. That is just after the fact that they just won the franchise’s first National Basketball Association title in 40 seasons.

If any team can beat the Warriors at their own game, it might be the Celtics.

The Splash Brothers teamed up to turn the Fieldhouse into a soggy mess as Klay Thompson has his best game of the season against the Pacers. This won’t be an easy one for the Warriors and it will come down to the wire. “Because if we get over there and try to get too excited, they’re just going to blow us out”. We’ll just have to stretch that bench a little more thin to get both Thompson and Harrison Barnes back to 100%.

In three periods, Thompson and Curry had 62 combined points. But the Heat looked gassed throughout the Chicago game and they have started to look gassed in previous games, as well.
